Kristina L. Post, OD

Dr. Kristina L. Post, OD, is a family practice optometrist. Her interests include Ocular Disease and Vision Rehabilitation. She received her undergraduate degree from Southwest Baptist University and my Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She completed her residency at Northeastern State University College of Optometry.

"The field of low vision and neuro-optometric rehabilitation is very rewarding. There are constant struggles that an individual with these disorders faces as part of their "normal" life. Difficulties range from cooking and laundry to bill paying and shopping, and solutions to all of these concerns are readily available. Through rehabilitation and education we can make a significant improvement in the patient's confidence and independence. The low vision exam works in coordination with a patient's regular optometric exam.

During a low vision evaluation, we determine the individual goals and struggles the patient notices and then work on viable solutions. Once we have developed a plan, the patient returns to his or her general optometrist for all future care. Patients who have had traumatic brain injury or who suffer from a neuro-degenerative disease have specific concerns and needs regarding balance and visual perception. These needs are ongoing and ever changing, but a variety of solutions exist to aid in meeting patients' needs." - Dr. Kristina Post, OD
