Dr. Kathryn Hamm, OD grew up in Kansas City and went to Kansas State University. At K-State, Dr. Hamm was a part of the K-State Marching Band, Student Leadership, and the K-State Foundation. After gaining her degree in Physical Science, and minors in physics and biology, Dr. Hamm attended UMSL College of Optometry. During optometry school, she filled many leadership roles, performed visual perceptual research, created an optometry research group, and advocated for eyecare nationwide.
At UMSL College of Optometry, Dr. Hamm was awarded the COVD pediatric optometry award and the Student Leadership award. Dr. Hamm graduated from Optometry School in May 2019 and has been an advocate for her patients and fellow practitioners inside and outside of the exam lane by practicing and serving as a leader in the optometry profession. In 2022 Dr. Hamm won the Industry Influencer Theia award from Women in Optometry. Dr. Hamm is active in optometry by publishing on EyesOnEyecare, her optometry podcast Lunch Date with Rachel and Kate, articles in Women in Optometry, and advocating for optometry.
Outside of Optometry, Dr. Hamm is an avid reader, loves to crochet, and is involved in community organizations in the Wichita Metro. Dr. Hamm and her husband love to watch football and actively root for the K-State Wildcats and the Kansas City Chiefs.
