David M. Chacko, MD, PhD is a vitreous and retina specialist who has been a partner at Grene Vision Group since 2001. Dr. Chacko was a professor in the department of Ophthalmology at the University of Nebraska from 1992-2001. At Nebraska, he did extensive research on Diabetic Retinopathy and Age-Related Macular Degeneration, both of which are currently areas of clinical research for him.
Dr. Chacko enjoys the variety of providing services for the elderly experiencing age-related macular degeneration, diabetic patients and performing emergency surgery for patients diagnosed with retinal detachments. Love for his patients is evident as they swap new adventures from their lives from one appointment to the next.
He and his wife moved to the Wichita, Kansas area to raise their family in 2001. They have two children who are furthering their education out of state. Dr. Chacko enjoys taking time away from his busy schedule to relax: fishing, golfing and traveling with family and friends. Dr. Chacko provides care to his patients at the Hutchinson East, Maize Road, and Woodlawn, Grene Vision Group eye care centers in Wichita, KS.
